How are music and math related?

Both are the study of structure, but music studies structure projectively, whereas math studies it introjectively. Music externalizes the the mind's own grammar and therefore constitutes the mind's attempt to understand the structures embodied therein. whereas math is an attempt to internalize the 'grammar', as it were, of the external world.
