Is bravery not being scared? (aka Is the act of bravery being fearless? )

No. Braveness is not about the absence of fear. It is about not succumbing to fear. The complete absence of fear would bespeak a lack of awareness and would in any case be counter-productive. But giving into fear when it would be well-advised to press forward bespeaks weakness of character and leads to a sterile existence. The ideal condition is to have the fear but to use one’s judgment, not one’s emotions, when deciding how to act and, on that basis, to act accordingly.
