What is a striking application of Freud's ideas that you recently discovered?

When Freud was psychoanalyzing young women, he noticed that a disproportionate number of them described having been molested.

Later he began to suspect that many of these women had not been molested and that the incidents they were describing represented fantasies of theirs.

Recently I have discovered that many women complain about being victims of boyfriends with NPD were never such victims and their complaints represent wishes of theirs, not actual occurrences.

In many cases, the NPD boyfriend never even existed.
